Instructions:
Download Flash Player Uninstaller The Flash Player uninstaller program runs on 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows operating systems.
Save the file to a location where you can find it easily after restarting your computer. For example, save it to your Windows desktop.
Note: To uninstall Flash Player beta, use the Flash Player beta uninstall program available in Adobe Labs.
Quit all browsers and other programs using Flash
The uninstaller does not work if programs that use Flash are running on your computer.
- Look at the taskbar. If the taskbar contains program icons for a browser or for a game using Flash, right-click each icon and choose Close. This example shows a browser in the taskbar:
- Look at the icons in the notification area for programs running in the background. Examples include AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and games that use Flash (any file whose name ends with .swf). If you see such an icon, right-click the icon and click Exit, as shown in this example:
Start the uninstallation program.
- Double-click the uninstall program icon that has been downloaded to your computer.
- Follow the instructions. If you see the message "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?", Click Yes.
- Delete files and folders from Flash Player.
- Click Start> Run.
- Copy and paste the following and click OK.
- C: Windows System32 Macromed Flash
- Delete all files in this folder.
- Follow steps 1 to 3 for the following:
- C: Windows SysWOW64 Macromed Flash
- % appdata% Adobe Flash Player
- % appdata% Macromedia Flash Player
Verify that the uninstallation is complete
- Restart your computer.
- Open your browser and check the status of Flash Player.
