To enable the latest features of DisplayPort 1.3 / 1.4, your graphics card may require a firmware update
Without the update, systems connected to a DisplayPort 1.3 / 1.4 monitor may display blank screens at startup the operating system will load or may crash at startup.
NVIDIA Firmware Updater will detect if the firmware update is necessary and, if necessary, allow the user to update it.
If you are currently experiencing an empty screen or are crashing on startup with a DP 1.3 or 1.4 monitor, try one of the following workarounds to run the tool:
- Start using DVI or HDMI
- Start using a different monitor
- Change the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy; or Legacy to UEFI.
- Start using an alternative graphics source (secondary or integrated graphics card)
Once the tool has downloaded, launch the tool and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
