Something to Hope: The short battery life has been a problem for laptop owners for most of the last decade. Various appliance manufacturers have tried to improve the situation by using a lower internal hardware, but no solution has been perfect so far. However, the upcoming Intel low power display technology could significantly increase the battery life of the laptop.

Whether you use a standard slot machine or laptop, most laptop owners have run into more than one occasion with battery problems.
However, good news could be on the horizon now.
At Computex 2018 this week, Intel said it was working on a new type of laptop display panel, which uses something the company calls "Low Power Display Technology." The technology supposed to draw only a single watt of battery power from a given laptop.
According to PCWorld, this technology could increase the life of a battery by a maximum of "four to eight hours".
It seems likely that some compromises will have to be made for the LDPT to become a reality, but it is difficult to say where they could lie. The images we have seen of Intel prototypes up to now do not give us an accurate idea of the amount of LDPT that has had a negative impact on the quality of the image, if it has actually had some effect.
That said, PCWorld says that LPDT does not seem to change much on screens at a fundamental level. The output signals that the brightness of the prototype devices was about the same as that of any other laptop, at about 350 nits.
If you are impatient to get your hands on a device with LDPT, it seems like you do not have to wait a long time. Intel says the first devices with this technology will be available on the shelves of your nearest electronics dealer this holiday season. Intel has not published any information regarding the potential prices of devices at the time of writing.
