The Cowboys started Sunday's game without Ezekiel Elliott and Tyron Smith. They lost Sean Lee to a hamstring injury in the first half. All three made the All-Pro team last season.
It is difficult to determine which one of them was missed the most by trailing the Falcons 10-7 at half-time.
Chaz Green's replacement left tackifier turned out a turnstile no matter who the Falcons line up on him, and quarterback Dak Prescott is the team's best rusher with four runs for 35 yards and a touchdown. Alfred Morris, who replaced Elliott, has six carries for 8 yards and Rod Smith a port for no yards. The Cowboys also gave big receiver receiver Dez Bryant for no yards.
Falcons defensive end Adrian Clayborn played until now, with three tackles, three sacks, a tackle for the loss, four hits, a forced fumble and a fumble escaped. He is on his way to the NFC defensive player of the week.
Atlanta, who lost running back Devonta Freeman to a concussion early, did not find much of an attack. The Falcons have a total of 124 yards, Matt Ryan completing 11 of 17 passes for 94 yards and one interception.
Prescott was beaten with four sacks, but he completed 9 of his 14 passes for 100 yards. Bryant has three catches for 39 yards.
