The saints try to correct a weakness with an addition to the mid-season, but not to their alignment.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, the Saints add veteran special teams coach Mike Westhoff to their team today.
Westhoff, 69, retired from the Jets after the 2012 season, but the Saints apparently wanted to consolidate things in what was a little weak this year.
Bradford Banta, the current special teams coordinator, and Kevin O 'Dea, assistant coach of the special teams, were both training Wednesday according to New Orleans Times-Picayune it seems that Westhoff is a consultant. ]
