AMD launches the new Radeon Pro Enterprise Software Driver 18.Q2, to continue to protect the investment of professionals and buyers by significantly improving the performance of leading business applications such as CATIA, Creo and Siemens NX, as well as as improved security features and stability.
Holding its promise to deliver quarterly driver updates, the AMD 18.Q2 enterprise Radeon Pro software will include the following benefits:

- New Windows versions of Radeon ProRender plug-ins for Blender and Maya: Following the release of new versions of macOS in April, AMD introduces updated Windows and Linux versions of the Radeon ProRender plug-in for Blender, a version update of the Windows plug-in for Maya, as well as the update of the Radeon ProRender plug-in for 3ds Max. Resolved issues
- Radeon Pro Overlay may not appear in clone mode with 2 displays.
- Display issues may appear when creating an AMD Eyefinity Pro display configuration in 3x2 full screen.
Known Issues
- The user may encounter the Radeon Software logo and the red taskbar icon in professional mode when at least one Radeon Software game driver for Radeon Pro is installed.
- Display problems may be observed when running the Nuke performance test on AMD FirePro ™ W8100 and AMD FirePro ™ W9100.
- The user may experience problems with Automatic and Passive Stereo with Windows 10 Update 2018.
- Intermittent Display Problems with Certain Siemens® Femap ™ Models with Radeon ™ Pro WX 9100.
- The user may experience display difficulties with shader geometry in MAXON Cinema4D ™.
- The system may crash on Windows 7 mobile platforms after installing the driver with Radeon ™ Pro WX 7100.
- Minor corruption can be observed on the model with anti-aliasing modes in Dassault Systèmes ICEMSurf.
Known issues specific to VDI
- The virtual machine can disconnect during the driver upgrade and can not connect before rebooting.
- The SPECviewperf 12.1.1 energy subtest may not complete in an MxGPU environment.
Feature Support Information
- Driver Options is available on Microsoft Windows 10. Always update the latest game drivers to mitigate driver change issues. This is not available with multi-GPU configurations or with Radeon Pro Duo ("Polaris"). This is not available for mobile platforms.
- Multi-GPU Eyefinity Pro software on Microsoft Windows® 10 is currently not supported on any hardware for Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Edition 18.Q2.
ISV Certification Notes
- Due to the Maya-MtoA Trac problem # 3142, some Viewport drawing modes for external characters draw an infinite line. Workaround is to switch the Viewport drawing mode from the stand-in to the Attribute Editor.
- Autodesk Maya 2017/2018 may display a gray patch in some models because of Maya Maya issue 41945. Workaround is to click another frame on the timeline or click on the first frame.
Release Notes for Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Edition 18.Q2 for Linux:
- Supports Ubuntu 16.04.4 and SLED / SLES 12 SP3.
- Enables support for Vulkan 1.1 - Open and closed source driver compliant with Vulkan 1.1 specification.
Known Issues
- The shutdown of the GPU may occur after prolonged stress tests.
- Application errors may occur when running StoryboardGraphics on ANSYS Workbench 18.1.
- Minor corruption may be visible in the display window when resizing in Autodesk Mudbox.
- Minor corruption can be observed in Dassault Systèmes Abaqus' mouse observation window
- Minor alteration can be observed when moving the cursor on the MSC SimXpert sample on the RHEL 6.9 operating system.
