A GeForce driver is incredibly complex software. We have an army of software engineers who constantly add features and fix bugs. These changes are checked in the main driver branches, which are ultimately executed through a massive quality control process and released.
As many changes are recorded, we usually try to align the driver versions with a game or a significant product. releases. This process has served us well over the years, but it has a significant weakness. Sometimes an important change for many users may end up and wait until we are able to release the driver.
The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way of trying to provide you with these patches faster. . These drivers are basically the same as the previous version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The resulting fixes are in part based on your comments in the pilot's threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to process them quickly. These fixes (and many others) will be incorporated into the next official version of the driver, by which time the Hotfix driver will be removed.
Of course, these patch drivers are beta, optional, and provided as is. . They are subject to a very abbreviated quality assurance process. The only reason they exist is to get fixes faster. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try them.
These HotFix drivers represent a lot of extra work from our engineering teams, I hope they will bring you value. We will try and see if people like the idea and want us to keep going.
