Instagram is testing a feature among some of its users that adds native payments to the popular app. First reported by TechCrunch, it allows someone to register a credit or debit card to his profile and create an identification number for security. After initial setup, users will be able to shop without having to leave Instagram.
At present, the payment function is in its infancy. An Instagram spokeswoman has confirmed the lawsuit, adding that native payments can be used for booking appointments in a limited number of locations, including restaurants and lounges. The company's ToS reveals that Instagram payments are supported by Facebook's payment rules by parents.
The complete list of companies that support the feature has not been published, but one of the first is the Resy dinner booking application. Some Instagram pages of its customers now accept native payments for bookings. Instagram says it will end up supporting direct payments for a range of goods and services, such as movie ticket reservations. In March of last year, the company announced that it would allow users to book a service with a company directly from their profile later in 2017, but it did not say anything about payments to aboriginals.
Although this feature may look similar to the tags introduced in 2016, these differ by displaying the website of a retailer when you select a photo of a product, forcing you to to enter your payment information. With a convenient integrated payment system, more users are likely to make purchases.
