Thunderbird changes the way you send your emails with tabs, and a new set of search tools helps you find your emails faster.
Tabs
If you like tabbed browsing in Firefox, you'll love tabs. The tabbed email allows you to load emails into separate tabs so you can quickly switch from one tab to the other. You may be responding to an e-mail and you need to refer to a previous e-mail. The tabbed email allows you to keep multiple emails open for easy viewing.
Double-clicking or typing on a message will open the message in a new window. Right-clicking on the messages or folders will open them in a background tab.
When you exit Thunderbird, the visible tabs will be saved and will be restored when you open Thunderbird the next time. There is also a new Tab menu on the Tab toolbar to help you switch between tabs.
Search
The new Thunderbird 3 search interface contains filtering and timing tools to identify exactly the email you are looking for. Thunderbird 3 also indexes all your emails to help you search even faster. Your search results appear in a tab so you can easily switch between your search results and your other emails.
Archives of Messages
If you think you need an email in the future but want to get it out of your inbox without deleting it, archive it! Archiving helps you manage your inbox and place your email in a new system of archive files.
If you select the Archive button or press the "A" key, your e-mail will be archived.
Customize your messaging experience
Thunderbird is flexible to adapt to your personality, to offer you the features you need and to adapt to your work style. Change the appearance of Thunderbird or add as many features as you want.
Thunderbird Gaze
With Personas, lightweight "skins" let you change the look of Thunderbird in an instant. Hundreds of skins are available from the latest movies, famous landmarks and Japanese tattoos. You can also choose from several themes that dress all the different icons of Thunderbird.
Intelligent Files
Smart Folders helps you manage multiple email accounts by combining special folders such as your Inbox, Sent, or Archive folder. Instead of going into the inbox for each of your email accounts, you can see all your incoming emails in an Inbox folder.
Manager of complementary modules
Find and install add-ons directly in Thunderbird. You no longer need to visit the Add-ons Web site, but simply launch the Add-ons Manager. You do not know which module is best for you? Notes, recommendations, descriptions and photos of add-ons in action help you make your choice.
