It's no secret that browsing websites with particularly bright colors late at night can be an uncomfortable experience.
Not only can these sites cause eye strain, but some users find that bright colors can negatively impact the quality of their sleep, especially if they tend to put their appliances to bed.
This is one of the main reasons why many popular services and websites now offer a dark mode feature. For example, YouTube has deployed its "dark theme" feature for both desktop and mobile users (iOS) in the past year.
The last website to follow this trend is Reddit. The company announced Friday its own "Night Mode" feature, which works pretty much exactly like the YouTube solution. Once you enable Night mode, Reddit's default white color scheme will be reversed and any black text will be converted to white or light gray text.
If you use Redesign new design, access to the feature is quite simple; just tap the name of your profile in the upper right corner and switch the Night Mode option from the drop-down menu.
If you do not want to use the new Reddit design, but still want to access a Night-like feature, the Reddit Enhancement Suite browser extension offers almost the same functionality in its own settings menu .
