SSH provides encrypted connection, terminal sessions, and data transfer. SecureCRT is highly customizable and easy to use.
SecureCRT supports SSH1 and SSH2 protocols. SSH2 support provides AES, 3DES, RC4, Blowfish, and Twofish ciphers, with password authentication, public key authentication, and Kerberos v5 authentication via GSSAPI.
Port Forwarding allows you to redirect TCP / IP applications over an encrypted channel. SecureCRT is ideal for connecting to remote systems running UNIX and VMS, as well as to the many BBS and databases available on the Internet.
Remote sites are easily accessible by simply entering a host name.
Variable compression allows users with switched connections to optimize performance. Support for the SSH2 server includes the latest SSH2 servers from SSH Communications and OpenSSH.
To facilitate multiple logins, SecureCRT can store secret phrases as long as the application is open. SecureCRT provides quality emulations for the VT100, VT102, VT220, ANSI, SCO ANSI, Wyse 50/60, Xterm and Linux base consoles, with ANSI color support.
Customization options include keymaps and login scripts, with many other choices, including fonts, sliders, and colors. Multibyte character sets are supported for Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, as well as improved support for scalable line drawing fonts.
The Activator utility allows you to manage sessions from the system tray, the session folders to handle hundreds of sessions, the ActiveX script for VBScript and other languages from Secure script and file transfer via the VCP application or Zmodem command line. X11 transfer is used to encrypt X Windows sessions.
SSH2 connections can be established from the command line with the help of the included VSH program. Named sessions, automatic logon, printing, emacs mode, and SOCKS firewall support are also popular features.
SecureCRT is the only SSH client with a password manager included.
