The next major update of Minecraft, called Update Aquatic, will mark Mojang's latest major effort to keep older console players up-to-date with the latest version of Minecraft.
Minecraft staff recently revealed that despite rumors to the contrary, players on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii U will receive Aquatic Update ... albeit a little after the initial launch of Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mobile and Windows 10
The team said that it would like to continue to bring new content to all players, but the truth is that the older generation of consoles now accounts for less than five percent of their base active players. As such, it was decided that focusing their efforts to support the players where they play the most Minecraft would be best to go ahead.
As its name suggests, Update Aquatic will add a host of aquatic features to Microsoft's popular sandbox video game, including coral, kelp, dolphins, other types of fish, wrecks explorable, aquatic physics and more. There is even a new weapon in the pipeline, the trident, to help you stay safe in the reworked ocean.
The Minecraft Aquatic update should be launched next spring.
